Alexis Figeac

Head of Sustainable Business and Entrepreneurship

Alexis Figeac has been engaging with technology start-ups for the last 15 years.: at T-Venture, Deutsche Telekom’s corporate VC fund, he was involved with deals such as NetCentrex, Lastminute.com and WebEx as well as the Fund of Fund  activity. His passion for cleantech started in the 90’s with private investments in wind farms and then at Axiom VC, where he backed a number of entrepreneurs in the seed phase. He also carried out technology transfer from renewable energy research institutes and evaluated new business models in the energy market as part of EU-funded projects. During his time at the Entrepreneurs Fund, he sharpened its profile in cleantech and was on the boards of Future-E (now merged with Heliocentris) and Controlled Power Technologies. Whilst currently active with the EU INNEON Eco-Innovation Network programme, he maintains an investor, advisory or board role in a number of cleantech start-ups.


Tom Vereijken

Chairman of the European Water Partnership

Tom Vereijken studied food technology and environmental technology. After starting his professional career in the beverage industry at the Bavaria brewery in the Netherlands, he worked for over 20 years for technology developing company Paques B.V, focusing on design and performance of industrial wastewater treatment facilities.


During his work at Paques BV, Tom Vereijken became involved in water at the European level. Improving and enabling market conditions for environmental technologies (with emphasis on water issues), are central themes in his activities at local and European level. Besides chairing the EWP, since January 2009 he is the President of the Brussels based European Partners for the Environment.


Tom Vereijken received executive MBA-degrees from Nyenrode University (NL) and the  University of Rochester (NY) in 1998 and was decorated by the University of Valencia in 1992.


Rasmus Egvad

He has a BSc. in Business administration (2004) and a MSc. in International Business (2008) from Copenhagen Business School, combined with MBA courses (2006) from Brandeis International Business School in Boston. Strong academic focus on strategy, international competition, business development, alliance strategies and innovation.


He is an InvestorNet Senior Consultant , and registered as Business Coach by the European Commissions Executive Agency for Small and Medium sized Entreprises (EASME). He works with screening, selecting and developing business cases for the EU supported EuroPruning, INNEON and MEMAN projects, which aim to support start-ups in the agriculture, eco-innovation and metal manifacturing industries. 

He was business Analyst/Project manager at the IT start-up Nextvet A/S 2009-2010 where he had a key role in a successful sale and exit for the company's founders.  He was Senior consultant at the Keystones ApS 2011- 2014 where he worked with business development of small growth companies, mainly with the focus on attracting private investors.


Uffe Bundgaard-Jørgensen

He has a Ph.D. in economics and operations research. For 10 years he was CEO of a large venture capital fund. He has lectured in Economics for many years at the University of Copenhagen, and worked as a consultant for the World Bank and DANIDA in South America, Asia and Africa. In 1994 he became member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences.

He was member of the Board of Directors of EVCA (European Venture Capital Organization) for a number of years. From 2004 he has served as Chairman of the Danish Energy Regulatory Authority appointed by the Minister of Climate and Energy of Denmark. Since 2016 he is vice-chairman of the EU Commission H2020 Risk Financing Advisory Group, and  member of the H2020 Advisory Group for International Cooperation. For 2 years he was Chairman of the H2020 SME Innovation Advisory Group. He is member of the Scientific Committee of the Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI-JU).


Uffe Bundgaard-Jørgensen has been responsible for the development of the Gate2Growth on-line business plan self-assessment tool SAT Light, SAT Pro and SAT Competence. He has conducted more than 120 "How to Attract Investors" and "Horizon 2020 SME Instrument” Master Classes throughout Europe.


Roberto Algarra

Head of Financial Support of Companies

Roberto is the head of the unit for financial support of companies in the regional development agency of Valencia and he is also involved with European Projects on financial subjects like INNEON. He was an active member in the board of directors of the Regional Mutual Guarantee Society SGR, and establish regional public investment and guarantee funds. With experience as a Business Angel, participated in the creation of AEBAN (Spanish Business Angels Association) as a founding member in the management team; he also created, as an IMPIVA initiative, the regional business angels association. He is graduate from Valencian University in Psycology and Administration of Affairs and he has a MBA in Madrid. Writer, columnist and lecturer in business schools.


Alison Cavey

Alison Cavey is an entrepreneurial and practical business consultant, with a track record of success in supporting technology R&D, innovation, and new venture development. An environmental engineer by training she has nearly 25 years of consulting and business experience. She is a founding Director of Orion Innovations, where she has variously acted as Interim MD, mentor and consultant to support new businesses from academia and industry, as well as working internationally with public sector clients looking to develop innovation support programmes. With a background in Management Consultancy, Alison stepped into technology commercialisation in 2000 as one of the original founding team of a UK fuel cell developer where she spent four years as Director of Business Development. She has since supported more than 50 SMEs and start-ups in the Cleantech sector.
